At Vista Bank, the basis of each customer relationship, many of which span generations, is trust. Our customers have chosen to do business with Vista Bank, and we are obligated to honor that relationship with great care, beginning with the information they have chosen to share with us. Their privacy should not be compromised. At the same time, we want to offer them the array of financial products and services they need to accomplish their financial goals. We believe we can do both through the privacy policy outlined below.
We believe the confidentiality and protection of customer information is one of our fundamental responsibilities. And while information is criticial to providing quality service, we recognize that one of our most important assets is our customers’ trust. Thus, the safekeeping of customer information is a priority for Vista Bank.
We collect, retain, and use information about customers only where we reasonably believe that it will help administer our business or provide products, services, and other opportunities to them. We collect and retain information about them only for specific business purposes – and we will tell them why we are collecting and retaining it upon their request. We use information to protect and administer their records, accounts, and funds; to comply with certain laws and regulations; to help us design or improve our products and services; and to understand customer financial needs so that we can provide them with quality products and superior service.
We continually strive to maintain complete and accurate information about customers and their accounts. Should any customer believe that our records contain inaccurate or incomplete information about them, we ask them to please notify us. We will investigate their concerns and correct any inaccuracies.
Each Vista Bank employee is required to follow the company’s Code of Conduct, which states that all customer information is considered private and privileged and is to be used solely for the purpose of providing customers with the finest service.
Vista Bank is committed to the security of customer financial and personal information. All of our operational and data processing systems are to be kept in a secure environment that protects customer account information from being accessed by third parties. Our employees are to be trained to understand and comply with our internal security standards.
We do not reveal specific information about customer (or former customer) accounts or other personally identifiable data to parties outside our the bank unless:
- The customer requests or authorizes it;
- The information is provided to help complete a transaction initiated by a customer
- The information is provided to a reputable credit bureau or similar information reporting agency; or
- The disclosure otherwise is lawfully permitted or required.
- If we decide to make any other disclosures of customer information in the future, the customers will be notified and given a reasonable opportunity to “opt out” of any contemplated information sharing.
When customer information is accessible or provided to any third party (as permitted by law) with whom the bank contracts, we will insist (through a written agreement) that the third party adhere to privacy principles similar to our for keeping this information confidential.
The bank’s Compliance Officer is charged with the responsibility to see that the bank’s officers and employees are properly trained and continue to follow this policy, along with any privacy regulations promulgated by bank regulatory agencies.
