Mortgage Closer 

Summary of Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Vista Bank is currently seeking a full-time Mortgage Loan Closer with experience in assembling, preparing, and reviewing critical closing documents for residential mortgage loans to ensure loan terms are met. This position entails providing and receiving documentation and information to and from the Settlement and Closing agents to order, to finalize, complete, close and disburse the mortgage transaction. Closers assist with the mortgage loan closing process by reviewing loan documents for completeness and accuracy. This position will obtain missing information, track closed loans and trailing documents, and provide overall department support. Job responsibilities will vary depending on workflow and volumes between pre-closing, closing and post-closing review and functions.

The Mortgage Closer will close packages to comply with regulatory compliance and bank policies. A successful Mortgage Closer is highly motivated, detail oriented and a team player. They provide a high level of customer service to clients, have excellent communication skills and time management.

As Mortgage Closer, duties/responsibilities include:

• Reviewing loan data for accuracy utilizing the file source documents
• Completing missing or correcting erroneous data
• Reviewing information submitted by loan officers, processors, and underwriters
• Order, review, and deliver loan closing packages to closing agents
• Manage and resolve problems or issues that arise with loan documentation
• Order and disburse wire for funding
• Support mortgage operations team, as required
• Communication with internal team members, closing agents and all parties in the transaction ensuring all closing documentation is complete, accurate and in compliance with all Federal and State regulations as well as bank policies
• Comply with bank policies and procedures, as well as Federal regulations • All other duties as assigned

This Position Requires:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• 3+ years recent mortgage loan closing experience
• Organizational and problem-solving skills
• Must be self-motivated with strong attention to detail and high level of accountability • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
• Must be able to organize, assess and prioritize large volumes of incoming and outgoing documents
• Knowledge of different mortgage loan types (portfolio and secondary market)
• Working knowledge of mortgage industry requirements
• Experience with Encompass/ICE
• Positive attitude and great work ethic and ability to work under pressure in high-stress situations • Ability to adapt to changes quickly and respond with solutions that accomplish the desired outcome
• Ability to work well with fellow employees and customers
• Ability to speak and hear
• Clarity of corrected vision at 20 inches or less for normal duties
• Clarity of corrected vision at 20 inches or more for security purposes
• No visible tattoos or body piercings except conservative ear piercings
• Must meet minimum credit standards and pass a criminal background check
