Summary of Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Vista Bank is currently seeking a full-time Compliance Officer specializing in Commercial and

Consumer Lending and Mortgage.

As a Compliance Officer this person will:

  • Serve as a valuable team member to ensure that the Bank achieves compliance with all applicable State and Federal banking laws and regulations
  • Be relationship driven with the Bank’s Board of Directors, Executive Management, staff personnel, and customers
  • Have demonstrated trustworthiness and integrity
  • Hold themselves to a higher standard and demand excellence
  • Be responsive and willing to do what it takes to get the job done

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support SVP in the following areas including, but not limited to, lending, training, internal
  • systems and controls, regulatory reviews, policies and procedures, data verification and reporting, record retention, product development, and Compliance-CRA exams
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring the Compliance Management Program and
  • Compliance-CRA policies
  • Assist in reporting to the Board of Directors, Committees, and Executive Management of
  • emerging compliance updates and/or issues to establishment a plan of action as needed
  • Support staff personnel by providing regulatory information, interpretations, or
  • clarifications as requested
  • Approve and monitor marketing materials, product materials, and lobby notices/signs
  • Assist with Compliance-CRA audits and exams including, but not limited to, data verification, reporting, and retention
  • Attend seminars/webinars/academies to maintain certification
  • Accept other responsibilities with a positive attitude as assigned

Job Related Qualifications:

Education/Licenses/Work Experience

  • Bachelor Degree or 3-5 years of banking experience specializing in regulatory compliance
  • CRCM certification preferred or to be earned within 1 year of hire date
  • Strong knowledge and experience in all banking regulatory laws with emphasis on commercial and consumer lending including CRA and HMDA

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office products and other programs such as FIS
  • Horizon, Kadince, and CenTrax
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and follow-through
  • Strong training abilities, excellent leadership, and people skills
  • Supervisory background required
  • Dedication to teamwork and long-term commitment to success
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and great work ethic
  • No visible tattoos or body piercings except conservative ear piercings
  • Must meet minimum credit standards and pass a criminal background check
