A tenured Vista Bank team member, Matt was born and raised in Ralls Texas. He attended Texas Tech where he received a B.S. in Agricultural Education in 1987. Along with serving as Idalou President at Vista Bank, Matt helped operate a farm with his family until January 2017, at which time he turned the farming operation over to his son, with whom he still partners on a small cattle operation.
 
Matt is actively involved in the Idalou community. Over the years, Matt has served on two different co-op boards and has worked with the Texas AgriLife Extension service on various committees. He continues to serve as finance chair of the Ralls First United Methodist Church and occasionally volunteers with the Boy Scouts.
