In honor of Black History Month, Vista Bank hosted an exclusive “Business, Banking, and Brunch” event on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Vista Bank & Financial Literacy Center in Dallas, Texas. This inspiring event brought together entrepreneurs, community leaders, and business professionals for a morning of education, empowerment, and networking. The breakfast featured esteemed guests Roland Parrish, CEO of Parrish Restaurants, and Lady Jade, a celebrated media personality and community leader known for her dedication to youth mentorship and financial literacy.
A Celebration of Black Excellence and Leadership
The breakfast began with a warm welcome from Vista Bank’s leadership team, who emphasized the importance of honoring Black history, culture, and achievements. Insights from Roland Parrish
Roland Parrish, a trailblazing entrepreneur and the CEO of Parrish Restaurants, took the stage as the keynote speaker. Parrish is known for leading the second-largest minority-owned McDonald’s franchise group in the United States, with over 25 locations. During his address, Parrish shared insights from his entrepreneurial journey, including the challenges he faced and the principles that have guided him to success.
Parrish also spoke about his passion for education, highlighting his philanthropic efforts to support historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and other educational initiatives aimed at empowering young people to pursue their dreams.
Lady Jade’s Commitment to Financial Literacy
Lady Jade, a dynamic media personality known for her work on K104 FM and her commitment to community outreach, delivered an inspiring speech about the significance of financial literacy within the Black community. She discussed her experiences mentoring youth and emphasized the power of financial knowledge as a tool for building generational wealth.
“Financial literacy is not just about understanding how to manage your money,” Lady Jade said. “It’s about creating a legacy of empowerment for our families and our communities. When we understand how to leverage financial resources, we can break cycles of poverty and create lasting change.”
