(December 27, 2023) DALLAS, TX – Vista Bank announced today that its President and CEO, John D. Steinmetz, has been named to the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association (CBAA) Committee, which oversees the historic Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic and the Cotton Bowl Foundation. His two-year term begins February 1, 2024.
In its 88th year, the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic has been a North Texas tradition since 1937. This year’s game will be played on Friday, December 29, at AT&T Stadium, with 9th-ranked Missouri taking on 7th-ranked Ohio State University.
“I’m incredibly honored and humbled to have been appointed to the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association board, particularly amidst such a robust and talented group of leaders,” stated Steinmetz. Having grown up a huge fan of the Cotton Bowl, this appointment combines two of my favorite things – college football and serving the community Jaemie and I choose to call home. I look forward to continuing the good work of the CBAA and ensuring the rich legacy of the Cotton Bowl traditions continue for my kids and grandkids.”
An active member of the community, Steinmetz has been named a Most-Admired CEO by the Dallas Business Journal, a Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) Dallas 500 recipient, and a 40 Under 40 honoree with both the Dallas Business Journal and the Fort Worth Business Press.
A former Regent of the Texas Tech University System, he is also a board member of the Dallas Citizens Council, a member of the Young Professionals Organization (YPO) Dallas and Aspen chapters, and a board member of the Dallas Museum of Arts.
