April is financial literacy month, and Vista Bank kicks off strong with a stop by David Daniels Elementary Academy of Math and Science to talk to the youth. Vista Bank’s Director of Community Development & Vista Outreach, Lubbock Smith III spoke to young students on the steps they can take right now towards financial security.
Vista has a 110-year history of supporting banking entrepreneurs and offering innovative solutions to personal and commercial clients alike. And well known for their community on-the-ground investments. David Daniels AMS is one of the many schools that will be visited by Vista Bank throughout the month of April. Vista knows that financial security means something different for everyone. Learning what that looks like for you and taking the steps to achieve your goal is how you get there.
Lubbock Smith was able to connect with the young students by simply asking relatable financial questions we’ve all asked, but maybe never considered as a financial assessment. Questions like “How many of you want to be rich or wealthy one day? Why and how” The students raised their hands enthusiastically to answer. Vista Bank’s Director of Community Development & Vista Outreach is also a man of the community outside of work. He is the co-founder of Camp Exposure, a faith-based holistic youth development program dedicated to exposing student-athletes to knowledge that is essential in helping them emerge into successful leaders on and off the field.
