Times like this bring out the very best in people. Unfortunately they also bring out bad individuals, looking to take advantage of others. With emotional and digital vulnerabilities, fraud and hacking is on the rise.

To help make sure the next virus doesn't strike online, our experts recommend everyone refrain from clicking on unsolicited coronavirus related attachments or hyperlinks from unknown/untrusted/unverified email sources, and be especially wary of appeals for help through social media, text messages, or phone calls related to the pandemic.

FDIC Insured Bank Deposits are Safe: Urges Consumers to Beware of Potential Scams Using the Agency's Name. 

In light of recent developments related to the coronavirus, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is reminding Americans that FDIC-insured banks remain the safest place to keep their money. The FDIC is also warning consumers of recent scams where imposters are pretending to be agency representatives to perpetrate fraudulent schemes. Read full press release here
Wash Your Hands

Don’t Forget To…

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick. 
  • Cover your mouth and nose with the inside of your elbow when you cough or sneeze.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently-touched objects and surfaces.
  • Hydrate by drinking water frequently.
