Kirk A. McLaughlin

Kirk McLaughlin joined the Bank in 1982. He would go on to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of both the Company and Bank.

Under McLaughlin’s management, the Company and Bank grew from $22.6 million in consolidated assets as of December 31, 1983, with one banking location in Ralls, Texas, to $284.1 million in consolidated assets as of December 31, 2014, with 11 retail locations across the Texas South Plains region and an operations/administration center in Lubbock. 

After receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Accounting at Texas Tech University, McLaughlin served as Credit Analyst for the First National Bank of Amarillo and completed that bank’s management training program. He completed the Texas Tech School of Banking and the American Bankers Association National Agricultural Credit School and would go on to teach a number of American Institute of Banking classes. 

McLaughlin is principal in his family office and serves as President, CEO, and Chairman of Lubbock Lighthouse. He is also a partner in Tokijo Partners, LP, a commercial real estate development company in Lubbock.

Formerly on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas for two terms, McLaughlin served as Chairman of the Audit Committee. He also served on the board of the Texas Bankers Association, as a member of the Community Bankers Council of the Texas Bankers Association, Chairman of the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, on the Lubbock ISD Partners in Education Committee, and as a Director of the Texas Tech Agricultural Credit Conference. A partner in Caprock Independent Insurance Agency in Ralls holding Texas licenses for life, health, and property insurance, McLaughlin was the Mayor of the City of Ralls for two terms, Chairman of the South Plains Association of Government’s Community Block Grant Regional Review Committee, Chairman of the Ralls Housing Development Corporation, a board member and Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Lubbock Chorale, a Standing Committee Member, Trustee, Executive Committee member, and Administrator of the Student Loan Fund for Clergy Children for the Episcopal Diocese of Northwest Texas, a Vestry member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for three non-concurrent terms during which he also served as Clerk, Treasurer and Senior Warden as well as serving on the Finance Committee for many years, a Trustee and Executive Committee Member of Texas Boys Ranch, and President and a Director of the Ralls Rotary Club. 

McLaughlin is a native of Ralls, Texas.
